Candidate Profile

Bob Harvie

PA-01

Bob Harvie

Bob Harvie is a lifelong Bucks County resident, educator, and public servant running for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 1st District. With decades of experience working directly in his community, Harvie brings a grounded, local leadership profile to one of the most competitive districts in the country.

Harvie spent 26 years as a high school social studies teacher before entering public service, where he focused on preparing the next generation and strengthening community institutions. He later served as a Falls Township Supervisor and now serves as Chair of the Bucks County Commissioners, leading one of Pennsylvania’s most politically competitive and economically significant counties.

His campaign is centered on:

  • lowering costs for middle-class families
  • strengthening local infrastructure and economic growth
  • expanding access to affordable healthcare
  • supporting public education and workforce development
  • restoring effective, accountable governance

Harvie’s candidacy is rooted in local credibility and a record of delivering results at the county level. In a district defined by independent voters and split-ticket behavior, his experience governing in Bucks County provides a foundation for building the kind of coalition required to compete in a challenging general election.

Early indicators in the race suggest growing competitiveness, with the incumbent showing signs of softening support and Harvie establishing baseline viability despite a significant resource gap. While the district remains difficult to flip, Harvie represents a candidate capable of testing that dynamic by combining strong local alignment with a unified Democratic coalition.

Rising health care costs are squeezing families across Bucks and Montco. In Congress, I’ll fight to lower costs, strengthen Medicaid, and make sure every family can afford the care they need. We need leadership that puts people’s health over profit.
