Zach Dembo is a ninth-generation Kentuckian, Navy veteran, former educator, and federal prosecutor running to represent Kentucky’s 6th Congressional District.
Raised in Kentucky and shaped by a tradition of public service, Dembo has built a career focused on serving his country, strengthening communities, and defending the rule of law. After graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy, he served as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) officer in the United States Navy, providing legal counsel and leadership while serving both at home and abroad.
Before attending law school, Dembo worked as a Teach For America educator, an experience that reinforced his commitment to expanding opportunity and investing in the next generation. He later served as a federal prosecutor in the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, where he worked on cases involving voting rights, public corruption, and the protection of constitutional freedoms.
Dembo’s campaign is focused on:

As Democrats seek to compete in an open-seat race in KY-06, Dembo offers a blend of public service experience, Kentucky roots, and a message centered on opportunity, integrity, and effective leadership.
My entire career has been devoted to public service, whether as a Navy JAG officer, a federal prosecutor protecting constitutional rights and fighting crime, or as a teacher in an underserved community. But after seeing the corruption in Washington D.C. and this Administration’s abuse of the criminal justice system, I knew that my public service needed to take a different path. That’s why I made the tough choice to resign as a prosecutor. And, that’s why I’m stepping up to run for Congress and fight for new leadership in Washington on behalf of Central Kentucky.
